About TOOLEX
The TOOLEX Company was founded in Meadville, Pennsylvania to manufacture vise jaw accessories.
The company’s first product was a “QUICKCHANGE” vise master jaw and parallel set designed to hold mill angles and parallels in place. The design included unique and quick changeover features.
TOOLEX then developed the ACCUSNAP system, which was a second-generation master jaw and parallel system.
The ACCUSNAP system offered greater repeatability in the X, Y & Z axes and eliminated the side loading clearance issue, which the QUICKCHANGE contained.
The TOOLEX ACCUSNAP design allows the parallels to be changed, by snapping into the face of the jaw, eliminating the side clearance need and still retaining the quick changeover capability.
Following the master jaw and parallel introduction, TOOLEX developed a family of vises identified as RELOCK vises incorporating a SNAPLOCK jaw system, which provides a very quick and easy method of installation and changeover.
The basic RELOCK system incorporated aluminum machinable jaws and can also accommodate a hard steel jaw set-up. Both of these jaw types can quickly be interchanged.
The RELOCK vise family consists of 2 station lay-down models and QUAD 8-station models, suitable for vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Hydraulic power clamping models are offered as part of the product line.
In 1997 TOOLEX was purchased by TE-CO to complement its already broad line of workholding products. TOOLEX is being marketed internationally and is recognized as a leading brand in the vise workholding and clamping market.
